Alfred Waseleski, 92, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 16, 2014 at his residence. Alfred was born May 10, 1921 in Benwood, West Virginia. He moved to Lorain in 1957 from Cleveland. Alfred was a veteran of the United States Army serving during W.W. II. He was in the Pacific Campaign and fought in the Phillipines where he was wounded during action. He was a life member of the Lorain V.F.W. Post #451, and a member of the Croatian Club. He liked to tinker with things and built his own Ham Radio. Earlier in life Alfred was a Scout Master for 10 years. He was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Alfred was a retired electrician. ã He is survived by daughters Dorothy McElfresh of Colorado Springs, CO, Arlene (Ted) Tokarczyk of Lorain, and Catherine (James) Alloway of Lorain; sons Steven Michael (Debbie) Waseleski of Amherst, Frank Waseleski of Lorain, Richard Edward Waseleski of Sarasota, FL, and John Waseleski of Elyria; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Francis (nee Cinalt) in 1982, daughter Ann Louise Beth, son Daniel Eugene Waseleski, parents Frank and Francis (nee Yunoska) Waseleski , 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 19th from 1-3 & 6-8 P.M. at Dombrowski- Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Deacon Bob Dybo officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst where Lorain V.F.W. Post #451, and American Legion Post #30 will conduct military honors. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lorain Disabled American Veterans Chapter #20, 1319 W.
