Arlene Stockham (nee Crosier), 87, of Vermilion, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at University Hospitals of Cleveland after a sudden illness. Arlene was born May 21, 1928 in Vermilion. She graduated from Vermilion High School and Oberlin Business College. After getting married, she moved to Lakewood until 1973 when she and her husband built a home in Vermilion. She was a member of the Vermilion United Church of Christ, Congregational, Three Arts in Lakewood, and Firelands Symphony. She enjoyed socializing, traveling, reading, and watching public broadcasting. She also enjoyed all that Lake Erie had to offer, including the wonderful views and sailing with her husband. She is survived by her first cousins, Elmer (Audrey) Meyers of Vermilion, Elton Bachman of Laughlin, NV, and Jack (Jan) Bowie of Grand Rapids, MI, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Stockham in 1987; parents, Rae and Elizabeth Katherine (nee Bachman) Crosier and her cat, Daisy. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4-7:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street,Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 23 at 1:00 pm at the United Church of Christ, Congregational, 990 State Street, Vermilion. The Reverends Bob Richardson and Louis Bertoni will co-officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Arlene liked bright colors so feel free to dress accordingly.
