Bj Johnson

William Ray "BJ" Johnson, 62, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021. at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 29, 1959. in Logan, WV and had been a lifelong Vermilion resident. BJ worked as a metallurgist for Ohio Metallurgical Service, Inc, Elyria for over 30 years and retired in 2010. He had also worked for Republic Steel and was currently working for C. A. Litzler Co., Inc., Cleveland as an automation engineer. BJ was an avid Cleveland sports fanatic. He was always ready for a ride on his Harleys or Corvette to wherever the fun could be found. BJ will forever be remembered as a dedicated and genuine husband, father, friend and co-worker. He was one of a kind and will forever be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his best friend, high school sweetheart, and wife of 43 years, Michelle (nee McManus) Johnson of Vermilion; daughter, Jennifer Martinez of Lorain; son, William "Billy" Johnson of Vermilion; father, Jim Baxter; mother, Phyllis ( nee Johnson) Baxter of Vermilion; grandchildren, Braxton Martinez and Coltin Johnson; brothers, John Baxter of Vermilion, Jimmie (Brandy) Baxter of New London, and Rick (Wendy) Baxter of Vermilion; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 p.m.at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
