Betty J. Mcmillen

Betty J. McMillen (nee Croll), 92, of Vermilion, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness. She was born August 17, 1920 in Sandusky and had been a Vermilion resident most of her life, also living in Milan. Betty had owned her own Poultry business and then worked as an inspector for Tenneco, Milan for over 25 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, raising and taking care of children, and talking on the phone with her friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Wallace of Vermilion; sons, Don (Verona) McMillen of Louisville, KY, David (Maryann) Croll of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jerry Croll of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Jakopak, Ronda (Jeff) Gearheart, Tami (Ricky) Dillion, and Donald McMillen, Jr; 3 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Courtney, and Xander; brother-in-law, Calvin McMillen of New Jersey; children that she loved as her own, Kenny (Linda), Larry , Debbie, Bobbie, Timmy, Jimmy, and Paula Croll and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McMillen; parents, Carl and Frena "Fannie" (nee Oplinger) Croll, son, Bob (Evelyn) Croll, and brother Bud Croll. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home. Pastor William Enderle will officiate. Interment will follow at McMillen Cemetery, Huron.
