Beverly Kathleen Smith

Beverly Kathleen Smith (nee Vaughn), 104, of Vermilion, died September 13, 2021, at Kingston Residence of Vermilion. Beverly was born December 6, 1916 in Elyria, OH. She had been a Vermilion resident for more than 75 years, moving from Elyria. She graduated from Elyria High School. Beverly was a homemaker and worked in housekeeping. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, sewing, traveling, cruises, and riding roller coasters. She is survived by her children, Susan (Richard) DeWitt of Amherst, Rebecca (James) VanAntwerp of Vermilion, Michael (Linda) Smith of Vermilion, and Sherwood Smith of Amherst; 18 grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Corinne (nee Weisman) Vaughn; husband, John E. Smith, who passed in 1961, and daughter, Mary Louise Hunter. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery.
