Charles C. Fury, age 83, of Vermilion, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 14, 1920 in Marlington, W. Virginia and has lived in Vermilion since 1953, moving from West Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII in Europe, North Africa and the South Pacific as a carpenters mate. He was a master carpenter for Carpenter�s Local 305 for 50 years and also owned and was president of Family Home Builders in Vermilion. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22 in Vermilion. He enjoyed traveling and time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary (nee McQueen) Fury of Vermilion; daughter, Sandra Kemp of Avon; Sons, Rick Fury of Avon and Charles M. Fury of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sr. Mary Edward, P.C.J. of Columbus. He was preceded-in-death by his 1st wife, Frances Fury in 1990. Friends may call Tuesday, April 20, 2004 from 2-4 /7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason Road, Vermilion, at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 21, 2004. The Vermilion Veteran's Council will provide military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
