Christopher James Walther, 63, of Sheffield Lake, died Monday, November 26, 2018 at his hunting cabin after a heart attack. He was born October 5, 1955 in Cleveland and had been a Sheffield Lake resident for the past 27 years, moving from Avon Lake. Christopher graduated from St. Edwards High School in 1973 and worked on the assembly line for Ford Motor Co., Lorain and Avon for over 30 years retiring in 2008. He was a member of the UAW #425 where he served as a trustee. He enjoyed a good poker game, fishing on Lake Erie, visits to deer camp, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Aimee (Justin) Miller of Amherst; sons, Craig Walther of Elyria, and Daniel Walther of South Amherst; grandchildren, Jude and Roslyn Miller; brothers, Mike (Donna) Walther of Sheffield Village, Jim (Kelly) Walther of Litchfield, Ray Walther of TX, and Mark (Terry) Walther of KY; sisters, Mary Kay (Gary) Buckley of Sheffield Village and Martha Walther of, NY; sister-in-law, Jane Walther of Toledo, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary (nee Burke) Walther and his brother, Robert Walther. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH.
