Clifford Lewis Dotson Sr., 85, of Lorain, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born November 19, 1930 in Freeburn, KY, and had been a Lorain resident for the past 5 years moving from Weirton, WV. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. Clifford worked as an electrician for the IBEW Local #129 retiring after 50 years. He had also worked as a welder and pipe fitter. He had been a very active life member of the VFW Post # 2716 in Weirton, WV where they named a hall after him. Clifford had attended Grace Apostolic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching baseball and football, and had been a scout leader in his younger years. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Michael) Johnson of Vermilion and Cheryl Scarpitti of Grafton; son, Clifford (Dina) Dotson, Jr. of Lorain; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and sister, Juanita Lambert of Columbus and Kathy Scott of Cleveland, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Maggie (nee Griffey) Dotson; brothers, Glenn and Arlen; and sister, Peggy. Services will be announced at a later date and inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. The family suggests memorial contributions to the donors choice.
