Conrad E. Schaber, 62, of Vermilion, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain after a lengthy illness. He was born April 10, 1952 in Buffalo, NY, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 43 years moving from Buffalo, NY. Conrad worked for Ford Motor Co., Lorain and Avon retiring in 2002 after 30 years. He had been a former member of the Avon Assembly of God Church. He was also a member of UAW Local 2000 and the NRA. Conrad enjoyed hunting, working on cars, fishing, boating, tinkering on things, and building things. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Daniel) Wagner of Vermilion, Dana (Carl) Adkins of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brittney, Miranda and Nicholas Wagner and Ciera, Savanna, and Conrad Finley, and Lillian Adkins; mother, Petrina (nee DiSalvo) Schaber of Seneca, NY; brothers, Peter, Mike, and David Schaber all of NY; and sister, Camille Stafford of Rochester, NY. He was preceded in death by his father, Conrad E. Schaber and his first wife, Sandra Schaber in 1985. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Jim Cooper will officiate.
