Constance S Dropko

October 13, 1915 — June 7, 2017

Constance S. Dropko (nee Strandwitz), 101, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Kingston Residence of Vermilion after a short illness. She was born October 13, 1915 in Gilman, Iowa and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 71 years moving from Brooklawn, NJ. Constance worked for Luther League of America in Philadelphia, Red Feather in Lorain, and the Vermilion Local Schools as a Librarian Aide for 23 years retiring in 1980. She dedicated much of her life to serving her church and community. She was a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion and served her community for many years through the Vermilion Food Pantry. Constance was a past recipient of the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce Anchor Award and had been inducted into the Vermilion High School Hall of Fame. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Glenn and Gary Arthur Dropko both of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Dropko in 2001; parents, Carl and Cecelia (nee Lovig) Strandwitz; and her brother, Herman Strandwitz. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion, OH 44089. Rev. Rich Leseganich will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion at a later date.
