Dennis Ray Barker Sr, 69, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at  his home surrounded by his family

He was born November 9, 1954 in Lorain, OH and had called Vermilion home for the majority of his life.

Dennis  retired  from American Crucible  Products in Lorain. He enjoyed NASCAR, watching old Westerns, Elvis, riding the lawnmower and coaching and supporting family baseball and football teams. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Melinda (nee Anderson) Barker of Vermilion, daughters, Vicky (Sean Adkins) Nutter and Melinda (Gene) Holbrook; son, Dennis (Samantha Taylor) Barker, Jr., grandchildren, Cody Holbrook, Matthew Henline, Hannah Nutter, Brooklyn Barker, Hailee Damron, Dennis Barker III, Jersey Barker, and Sebastian Barker; and  many siblings.

He was preceded in death by his  father, George  Barker;  mother, Glenndora Downs and several siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Mercy Health Cancer Center.
