Dorman E. Elliott, 87, of Vermilion, died Monday, March 20, 2006 in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. He was born April 4, 1918 in Port Clinton, OH and has been a Vermilion resident since 1966, moving from Sandusky. He worked as a receiving inspector for the Ford Motor Plant, Lorain for 27 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Vermilion. He was a member of UAW Local #425 and the Meat Cutters Union. He was past vice-president of the Lorain County Radio Control Model Air Planes Association and enjoyed building and flying model air planes. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Evalyn L. (nee Knox) Elliott, son, Dorman R. Elliott of Sandusky; daughter, Sandra L. Keller of Bellevue; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Clara Davis of Simi, CA. Preceding him in death were his parents, Dorman and Ruth (nee French) Elliott, brother William Elliott, and sister Virginia Cahill. Friends may call Thursday, March 23, 2006 from 5-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home with the Rev. Joan Skelley-Watts, officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
