Dorothy R. Tobicash

Dorothy Rose Tobicash (nee Gawlik), 72 of Lorain, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 in Community Health Partners West following a lengthy illness. She was born March 20, 1934 in Lorain, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She had worked in the cafeteria at Ford Motor, Lorain and was a stewart at the PLAV, Lorain. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Ladies Auxiliary of PLAV, Lorain, the Slovic Club and the Lorain UPC. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, listening to Polka music, and caring for her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Tobicash of Lorain; sons, Stanley Tobicash of Vermilion, William Tobicash of Garfield Heights, Joe Tobicash of Amherst, John Tobicash of Lorain and David Tobicash of Avon; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Preceding her in death were her husband, Stanley Tobicash Sr. in 1995; parents, Stanley and Mary Gawlik; sisters, Florence Abrahamowicz, Jean Horvath, Stella Kuhn, Connie Kerley; and brothers, Edward, Richard, Henry, and Joseph Gawlik. Friends and family may call on Monday, October 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave. Lorain. Prayers will be said Tuesday at 9:30a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 West 15th St. Lorain with Pastor John Kline.
