Ella S. Hanley (nee Russ) 95, of Vermilion, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born August 29, 1915 in Lakewood, she lived in Lakewood most of her life but spent summers at the Olympic Outing Club, Vermilion. Ella worked for the Cleveland Post office as a mail sorter. She was a member of St. Clement's Catholic Church, Lakewood, and the Olympic Outing Club. She enjoyed bowling, her neighborhood coffee club, playing cards, flower gardening especially roses, walking, and spending time with grandchildren Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Louis) Kuhnle of Vermilion; grandsons, Louis Kuhnle, Captain Matthew D. Kuhnle, D.O., and Mark A. Kuhnle; great-granddaughter, Claire A. Kuhnle and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence P. Ramerman in 1975; second husband, Tom Hanley in 2005; brothers, Ed and Louis Russ; and sisters, Mamie Call, Sophie Anschuetz, Rose Zaitz, and Jewel Anna Smolic. . A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland. Father Ron Brickner will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Marys Endowment Fund, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089 or a charity of the donor's choice.
