Ester Carolyn Moore

Ester Carolyn Moore (nee Mizer), 84, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Born on November 8, 1940, in Wooster, OH, Carolyn was a cherished resident of her hometown until she relocated to Vermilion.

For over 50 years, Carolyn, alongside her son, Greg, owned and operated Moore Hair Design/Moore Than A Cut, where she worked as a beloved cosmetologist. Her passion for her craft was evident in every hairstyle she created, helping clients feel confident and beautiful through every stage of their lives. Carolyn had the privilege of styling hair for many client's life milestones, and she cherished the personal connections she formed with her clients, who often became dear friends.

Outside of work, Carolyn embraced life with enthusiasm. She enjoyed playing cards, motorcycle rides with her husband, bus trips, shopping adventures, and fishing on the pontoon boat. Above all, her greatest joy came from her family and friends. Carolyn poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home, ensuring that every family gathering was special and filled with love.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickey (Kathy Hanaburgh) Moore of Vermilion, Donna Mohler of FL, and Crystal (Bob) Napier of Wooster; her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Paige, Jordan, Collin, Alexis, and Rachel; great-grandchildren, William and Thomas; and her siblings, Dean Mizer, Shirley Boutwell, Connie Kaufman, Joy Finner, Grant Hostutler, and Randy Mizer.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. Moore; her son, Gregory Moore; and her parents, Maurice Mizer and Eleanor (nee Schibe) Hostutler.

In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private inurnment will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
