Ethel Murray (nee Bloomfield ), 88, of Vermilion, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at Mill Manor Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. Ethel was born February 8, 1927 in New Boston, Ohio to John Thomas and Tempie Bloomfield. She was a resident of Vermilion for more than 55 years. During World War II, Ethel worked in a shoe factory making boots for the military. She then worked at Aqua Marin in Avon Lake and in home health care. She and her husband, Arthur were very active in the Madeleine Chapter of Easter Star #204. Ethel held all 5 star points before serving as Worthy Matron. They also enjoyed traveling around the world seeing, Hawaii, China, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. After retiring, they wintered in Fort Meyers, Florida for many years. Ethel enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Henson) Stipe of Vermilion; sons, Arthur (Mary Ann) Murray of Vermilion, and Manford (Glenda) Murray of Vermilion; 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Murray; parents, John and Tempi (nee Stephens) Bloomfield; and her grandson, Joseph Murray.
