George D. Crobaugh , 87, of Nokomis, Fl and Vermilion, OH died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, OH after a brief illness. He was born May 10, 1925 in Tiffin, OH. He was a graduate of Heidelberg College in Tiffin, and was a veteran of the Army-Air Corp having served during W.W. II as a ball turret gunner on B-17 bombers. George was a Sales Representative for Marathon Oil Co. He enjoyed boating throughout his life, and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a member of the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, Fl. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, and attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion. He is survived by daughters Rebecca (Frank "Bill") Borer of Zeeland, MI, Barbara (Phil) Fogle of Frederick, MD, and Nancy Heck of Woodbridge, VA; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; loving companion Rosanne "Posie" Gallaher of Nokomis, FL; brother-in-law James (Jeanne) Wright of Fremont, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence W. and Hilda (Mathias) Crobaugh, wife Geraldine (Wright) October 21, 2007, brothers Burton and Clarence Crobaugh, and sister Geraldine Martens. A Memorial Mass will be conducted on Friday, September14th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 731 Exchange St., Vermilion, OH. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Tiffin, OH.
