Gerald W. Love, 68 of Vermilion, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at his home, following a several month illness. He was born March 1, 1940 in Parkin, Arkansas and had lived in Vermilion since 1959. He worked as an industrial mechanic for the Ford Motor Company for 38 years, retiring in 1997. A member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion, he served as Deacon, Treasurer and was a Sunday School director. He was also a member of the Turn Around Gang. He enjoyed fishing, garage sales and flea markets. He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Barbara (nee Baker) Love; son, Gerald 'Jerry' Love of Everett, Washington; daughters, Kerry (Todd) Weaver of Vermilion and daughter, Deborah (Pascal) Ginesta of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Kris, Tyler and Kurt Weaver, Aaron and Jacob Ginesta and Rebecca and Georgia Love; brothers, Lonnie Love of VanBuren, Arkansas and Carlos Love of Parkin, Arkansas; sisters, Patsy Smith of Marion, Arkansas and Kay Zachary of Heth, Arkansas. Preceding him in death were his parents, Homer and Novie (nee Whitehorn) Love, sister, Naomi Smith and brother, Dwight Love. Friends may call on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Avenue, Vermilion. Reverend Cliff Morris, pastor, and Reverend Guy Morton, pastor emeritus, will coofficiate. Additional services will be at the Fitzgerald Crossing Baptist Church, 422 Highway 1, Wynne, Arkansas on Thursday, October 16, 2008, with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery, Wynne, Arkansas.
