Gudridur "Dudda" Conway (nee Kristjansdottir), 81, of Vermilion, died Monday, February 2, 2015 at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Dudda was born April 20, 1933 in Reykjavik, Iceland, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 49 years, moving from Iceland . She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, getting her hair done, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, David (Carrie) Conway of Vermilion and John (Rhonda) Conway of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brittany, Abby, Emma, Ella Kayla, and Josh; and a sister, Magnea Jonsson of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her husband William Conway in 2003, daughter, Anna Conway in 2008, parents, Kristjan and Kirstin (nee Thorkeldottir) Krishansdottir; sisters, Hulda, Sigriour, Helga, and brothers, Magnus, Kristjan, and Sveinn. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 3-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion. Funeral services will be at the funeral home, Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11:30 am. The Reverend Rich Leseganich will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
