Homer Nelson Pace, 80, of Nova, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland, after a short illness. Homer was born November 19, 1932 in Tryon, NC, He had been a Nova resident since 1990 moving from Sheffield Lake. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during Korean War. Homer worked for Ford Motor, Brookpark, Ohio as an assembler and supervisor for 31 years. He was a member of Rochester Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening and Gospel Blue Grass music. He is survived by his wife, Loretta "June" Jennings Pace of Nova; son, Dwayne Homer (Dawn) Pace of Eyria; daughters, Debbie (Alan) Caudill, Sheffield, and Kathy (Scott) Harrison, Cincinnati; grandchildren, Nichole (Brian) Kelsey, Erica Caudill, Gabriel Caudill, Amanda Harrison, Sarah Pace, Rachel Harrison; 2 great grandchildren, Julia Kelsey and Brennen Kelsey; stepsons, Norman Jennings, Jr., Richmond, VA and Allen (Kathy) Jennings, Middleburg Heights; step daughter, Elaine (Shane) Clark, Elyria; step grandchildren, Shawn Jennings, Carissa Johns, Andrew Clark; step great grandchild, Riley McNeal and brother, Ted (Geri) Pace, Nova. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Hattie Pace; his first wife, Bonnie and 16 siblings. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 4-8 p.m.at A Fresh Wind Church, 1115 Milan Ave, Amherst, Ohio 44001. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at the Fresh Wind Church at 11 a.m. The Reverend Art Conrad will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
