Jason T. 'Jake' Stevens

July 10, 1975 — April 21, 2015

Jason "Jake" T. Stevens, 39, of Wakeman, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at after a sudden illness. He was born July 10, 1975 in Lorain, and had been a Wakeman resident for the past 5 years moving from South Amherst. Jason had worked for Concast, Birmingham and Johnson Controls, Oberlin. He was in the Firelands High School band and also played on their baseball team. Jason was active on the South Amherst Fire Department. He was a member of the Lorain Co. Coon Hunters Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, turkey shoots, water racing dogs, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Mary Stevens of Wakeman; mother, Freda J Stevens of South Amherst; grandmother, Helen Bailey of Medina; sons, Darrell Stevens of Birmingham and Josh Stevens of Willard; daughters, Carol Lynn Stevens of Birmingham, Sydney Stevens of Willard, and Erin Stevens of Willard; step son, James Bolden of Wakeman; step-daughter, Sara Bolden of Wakeman; step-grandchildren: Julia, Delilah and Connor; sister, Penny Bethard of Wakeman; and Uncle, Chuck Stevens. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Stevens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Friends may also call from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 12:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. The Rev. Randy Crabtree will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst. The family suggests memorial contributions to Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
