Jean Ann Gunter, 72 of Vermilion, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness. She was born March 31, 1935 in Avon Lake and had lived in Vermilion for the past 19 years, moving from Elyria. She worked as a home health aide for Lorain County Health Department for over 15 years. She graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1953. Jean was an avid reader, enjoyed her grandchildren�s ball games, playing Bingo and Bunco. She loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include sons, Billie Gunter of Vermilion, Chuck Gunter of Harpers Ferry, WV., Steve Gunter of Travis, CA., Scott Gunter of Vermilion; daughters, Denyse Hildebrandt of Amherst, Michelle Schmalz of Vermilion; 22 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clinton "Dough" Gunter, parents, Charles and Lauretta Krebs (nee Biltz), step-mother Eileen Krebs (nee Carek), several step-brothers and step-sisters. Friends may call Tuesday March 4, 2008 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Wednesday March 5,2008. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
