John Henry Schneider, 84, of Ruggles Beach, Huron, died suddenly Monday, June 29, 2009 at Community Health Partners, Lorain. He was born December 31, 1924 in Toledo. He was raised in Toledo, lived in Cincinnati until retiring at Ruggles Beach in 1987 and spent his winters in North Ft. Meyers, FL. He worked for the Ohio State Patrol for 30 years and retired as a Captain in 1977. He then worked as National Safety Director for Ace-Doran Trucking Co. from 1977-1987. He was a member of the Anderson Indiana Church of God and had attended Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion. He was a member of the Toledo American Legion and enjoyed golf, fishing, boating and shuffle board. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary (nee Yocom) Schneider; daughters, Marva Lee (Greg) Miller, Rio Grande, Ohio, Mari Lin (Arthur) Robinson, Lordstown, Ohio and Martha Lale (Douglas) Clark, Cedar Brook, New Jersey; son, John Robert (Teri) Schneider, Duluth, GA; grandchildren, Minda Hager, Amy Landrum, Burley Clark, K. Braun Difava, Rachel Gensburg, Rhonna McConnell, John Thomas Schneider and Kyle Robert Schneider; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Sonnenburg, Paletine, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Ethel (nee Hyman) Schneider, Sr., a granddaughter; a brother, Charles Schneider; and 2 sisters, Jerry Shepler and Ethel Ann Butler. Private family services will be held.
