John Richard Friel III, 42, of Monroeville, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 after a lengthy battle with MS at his home in Monroeville where he has lived the past 10 years. He was a supervisor at Lorain Ford Motor, Sandusky Ford Motor, a Ford Plant in Michigan and Bellevue Visteon. Born April 26, 1968 in Lorain, he was raised in Vermilion and graduated from Vermilion High School in 1986. He graduated from Old Dominion College, Norfolk, VA, in 1991 where he had been a 2 time All American college wrestler. He enjoyed motorcycles, family activities, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron, and Omicron Delta Kappa the National Leadership Honor Society. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Diane Friel (nee Seekins); daughters, Nichole Dawn Lute, Monroeville, Jamie Eloise Lute, Nashville, TN, Alison Michelle Lute, Norwalk, Charlyn Rain Friel, at home and twins, John Richard Friel IV and Emily Faith Friel, at home; parents John Richard and Charlyn S. (nee Sander) Friel; mother and father- in- law, Carol and Bill Findley and father- in- law, Jim Seekins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Charles and Selina Sander and John and Ilo Friel. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion . Funeral services will be Monday March 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Vince Cooper of the Norwalk Christian Assembly of God Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
