Larnia Yates

Larnia G.Yates (nee Deel), 76, of Vermilion, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph, Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born July 27, 1936 in Harman, VA, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 52 years moving from Virginia. Larnia had been the manager of Lawson, Vermilion for 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Vermilion and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Whitten Yates; sons, Russell (Vicki) Yates of Berlin Hts. and Robert (Ruth) Yates of Berlin Hts.; daughters, Jennifer (Donald) Kurth of Vermilion and Susan (Anthony) White of Vermilion; grandchildren: Justin, Rachel, Ashley, Wesley, Nicholas, Mason, Crystal, and Brooke; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Aidan, Presley, Miley, and Payton; sisters, Kathy Ashby of Hiddenite, NC, Grace Jones of Maxi, VA, Doris Ann Rice of Grundy, VA, and Reba Smith of Fairfax, VA; brothers, Otis Deel of Summerton, SC and Jesse Deel of Amherst;; Uncle Clyde and best friend, Aunt Mary Deel of Vermilion and Aunt and Uncle Myrtle and Ed McGlothlin of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fines and Mary (nee Stiltner) Deel; brother, Edgar Deel; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Paker and twin sister, Betty Keisman. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Donald Resecker will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemtery, Vermilion.
