Leonard B. Cooksey

Leonard B Cooksey, 85, of Huron, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Norwalk Memorial Home after a lengthy illness. He was born January 1, 1922 in Bowling Green, KY, and had lived in Huron for 51 years moving from Lorain. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter for American Ship, Lorain. He was a life member of VFW Post # 7576, Vermilion. He enjoyed fishing. . Survivors include daughters, Beatrice Squire of Lansing, MI Barbara Cooksey of Huron; sons, Garland Cooksey of Huron, Noah Cooksey of Salida , CO, Alven Cooksey of Sandusky; and 2 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Bonnie Cooksey, Oct 21, 2003; his parents, infant twins, and 3 sisters, Ivell, Virginia and Kathryn . Friends may call Friday, November 30, 2007 from 4-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military services at 6:30 p.m. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 1 p.m. The Reverend Joe Woodyard, pastor of Mount Harvest Church of God will officiate.
