Leonard "Lenny" E. Scott, 46 of Vermilion, died November 1, 2007 in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. He was born January 29, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa. He has been a Vermilion resident since 1986 moving from Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as an engineer 1979 to 1984. He operated Lenny's DJ Service in Vermilion where he played for weddings, and birthdays. He was know as "Crazy Lenny Bop". While living in Moline, Illinois he also worked with troubled children. He was member of the First Assembly of God Church in Vermilion. He coached Little League baseball for the YMCA in Vermilion. He also coached the girls softball teams and boys basketball teams. He enjoyed sports and running. He was twice awarded "Father of the Year" by the MS Society. He was survived by his wife of 25 years, Kimberly (nee Woodall), a daughter, Shawna Desiree Scott of Vermilion; a son, Todd Jacob Scott of Vermilion; brother, Bradley Allen Scott of Iowa; sister, Brenda Jo Pullen of Bettendorf, Iowa; his father and step mother, Paul & April Scott of Rye, CO; his mother, Beverly Labbs of AZ; 6 nephews and 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his father- in- law, Arthur Woodall in August 2007. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 5-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. The Reverend Nathan Porter, Lenny's nephew, will officiate.
