Lorraine Louisa Pierce (nee Williams), 73, of Vermilion, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at New Life Hospice after a lengthy illness. She was born February 12, 1943 in Cuba, New York and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years moving from Lorain. Lorraine operated an in home daycare and enjoyed being a foster mom. She was a charter member of Firelands Baptist Church, Birmingham and was also a member of the Senior Center. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several cards groups. She also enjoyed painting, ceramics, and spending time with her family and the children she cared for. She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Meg) Austin of Vermilion, Bill Pierce of Vermilion, Brian (Karen) Pierce of Great Falls, MT, and Robert (Christin) Pierce of Louisville, KY; step daughter, Barbara Pierce of Franklinville, NY, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Eugene Williams of NY; sisters, Edna Elling of Friendship, NY, Esther Lundfelt of NY, Nancy Bedillion of PA, and Margaret Jenison of NY. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Austin, 2nd husband; Robert "Joe" Pierce; daughter, Dawn Austin; son, Duane Austin; parents, Clayton and Erma (nee Hurd) Williams and brother, Roger Williams. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3, 2016, from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion. Funeral services will be Monday April 4, 2016 at 10 am at the funeral Home. The Pastor Ed Young will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
