Lottie M. Kardel, 95 of Lorain, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at her home following a sudden illness. She was born December 5, 1910 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has lived in Lorain since 1957. She worked in the custodial department for the Washington Elementary School in Lorain and had also worked for the Heinz Company in Pittsburgh. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the United Polish Club, enjoyed traveling, dining out with friends, playing BINGO and watching sporting events, particularly baseball and football. She is survived by a sister, Irene Markowski of Santa Ana, California; God-Son, Frank & Deanie Shukait of Lorain; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Frank and Frances (nee Szescila) Kardel and brothers, James, Frank, Steven and Stanley. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will be the celebrant. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Soose Road, Pittsburgh, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Nativity BVM Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
