Marceline D. Gray (nee Laws), 82, of Vermilion, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. Marceline was born December 7, 1928 in Harlan County, Kentucky. She had been a Vermilion resident since 1986 moving from Harlan County. She worked as a private duty nurse, worked in a doctor's office, and in Harlan Hospital, Kentucky. In total she had worked as a nurse for 32 years retiring in 1972. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion where she was very active. Marceline enjoyed sewing, reading and photography. She is survived by her step son, Harry Gray, Jr. of Prairie Hill, TX; 5 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and her pastor, Rev. Donald Resecker who often visited with her. She was preceded in death by her parents Warfield and Mary (nee Byrd) Laws, first husband, William C. Justice, 1981 and 2nd husband, Harry Newton Gray in 2001; and brothers, Lloyd and Franklin Laws. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Graveside services will be at the Chapel at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Dr. Roy Lucas will officiate.
