Margaret Schnieders (nee Minges), 83, of Florence Twp., died Sunday, November 27, 2016 at after Mercy Regional Medical Center a sudden illness. Margaret was born March 15, 1933 in Neudorf, Yugoslavia. She moved from Yugoslavia to Ashland, OH in 1949 and then to Mansfield in 1953. She has been a Florence Twp. resident for the past 47 years. Margaret worked as a seamstress for Daltons, Lorain from 1977-1989 and then for Louie Cohns, Elyria for 4 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion where she had been active with the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed boating, traveling, sewing, needle point, cooking, baking, especially enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herman Schnieders; sons, Mark (Julie) Schnieders of Berlin Heights, Larry (Denise) Schnieders of Shelbyville, KY, and Rick (Darlene) Schnieders of Clinton Twp., MI; daughter, Elizabeth Burns of Put-in-Bay; daughter in law, Kathy Schnieders of Wakeman; grandchildren: Brian, Ryan, Kevin, Kyle, Nathan, Riley, Robin, and Trad; great grandchildren, Jordyn and Mary; and her sisters, Anne Spicker of Ashland, Hilda Dehmel of Phoenix, AZ, and Thresea Jakubko of Ashland She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Paula (nee Lafferthon) Minges and son, Greg Schnieders. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH. Inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
