Merlyn Dale "Shorty" Reisinger, 85, of Wakeman, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born March 10, 1933 in Elyria and had been a Wakeman resident for the past 2 years moving from Vermilion. Dale graduated from Avon High School and was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He worked for Thompson Builders as a superintendent, building commercial buildings in Toledo and Cleveland for 20 years. He also built houses around Vermilion when he owned Reisinger Construction. Dale enjoyed bowling, boating, camping and traveling all over US in his camper. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Louise (nee Chandler) Reisinger of Avon Lake; son, Dale Reisinger of WI; daughters, Vickie Reisinger of Toledo and Lisa (Rob) Davis of OK; 5 grandchildren, step children, Margaret Thoms of NC, Janet (Derek) Taylor of Chagrin Falls, Linda (Bill) Stuchal of Avon Lake, and Michael Thoms of Wakeman; and his sisters, Sherri Sealy, Lois (Dr. Jim) Magasono, Penny Taylor, and Karen (Dr. Chan) Kohli. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Marjorie (nee Chester) Reisinger; step-father, Allen Prindle; and his brother, Gary Prindle. Private family services will be held.
