Rocco Simoniello

Rocco Simoniello, 82, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born March 3, 1930 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, he had been a Vermilion resident for the past 26 years moving from Lorain and spending his youth in Grottaminarda, Italy. He was a veteran the US Army serving during the Korean War. Rocco worked for Ford Motor Co., Lorain in Quality Control for 30 years retiring in 1989. He had also worked for 5 years at General Motors, Elyria and as a tailor for Sears, Elyria. He had attended the Abundant Life Christian Center, Elyria and was a member of the UAW #425. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, and eating spaghetti. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ora (nee Miller) Simoniello; sons, Rocco D. Simoniello of Vermilion and David and his wife Sara Simoniello of Independence, Missouri; and granddaughter, Amanda Simoniello. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Rose (nee Morelli) Simoniello. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. The Pastor Jerry Harper will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
