Roger Colebrook

Dr. Roger L. Colebrook, 81, of Vermilion, died Saturday, November 25, 2023 at  Anne Arundel Medical Center, Maryland following a brief illness.

He was born June 26, 1942 in Maple Heights, Ohio.He received his undergraduate education at Hiram College and completed his dental training at The Ohio State University in 1967. Dr. Colebrook served as lieutenant in the United States Navy Dental Corp until 1969. He practiced dentistry in Vermilion for thirty eight years, retiring in 2005.

He would modestly brag that he was licensed in all of earth's mediums: On the road (drivers license), under the water (scuba diver), on top of the water (six pack charter boat captain), and in the air (private pilot with instrument rating). He also enjoyed cooking, gardening, photography, fishing, barbequing, playing poker and operating remote controlled models.

He is survived by his long time love and companion, Jackie Talley; his son, Scott L. (Kimberly) Colebrook; grandsons, Colin and Carter Colebrook all of Cincinnati; and his brother, Kim Edward (Wendy) Colebrook.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (nee Wawrin) Colebrook in 2017, and his parents, Ralph and Leneigha (nee Thesan) Colebrook.

A private celebration of life will be held.

Dr. Colebrook was an avid believer in education. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Vermilion School System via the Vermilion Board of Education, 1250 Sanford Street Suite A, Vermilion or to the Vermilion Police Department, 5791 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion- whom he admired, respected, and sincerely appreciated, or to Vermilion In Bloom, 630 Main St ,Vermilion, OH 44089.
