Russell R. Hite, 75, of Vermilion, died Monday, June 13, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. Russell was born May 26, 1941 in Norwalk, and grew up in Berlin Heights on his fathers farm. He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 65 years moving from Berlin Heights. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Russell first worked for Wakefield Brass, and then the City of Vermilion Street Department for 22 years. He retired in 2012 from Schoepfle Gardens after 15 years as a grounds keeper. He was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church. Russell enjoyed motorcycling and was a founding member of both the former Vermilion Spokesmens Motorcycle Club, and the Righteous Riders Club. He loved Indian Motorcycles, 50's Rock, and mowing the lawn. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy (nee Sidlo) Hite; sons, Cole Hite of Old Brooklyn and Paul (Kathleen) Hite of Sandusky; daughters, Coni (Lawrence) Dispenza of Vermilion and Kimberly (Robert) McKee of Worthington, KY; grandchildren, Brandon, Robert, Melody, Nathan, and Tyler; step-grandchildren, Jeff, Bryan, and Erica; step-great-grandchildren, Trent, Noah, Isaiah, and Catherine; and brother, Donald (Jeanne) Hite of New London. He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Ruth (nee Bentley) Hite, and his brother Richard C. Hite. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Birmingham United Methodist Church, 15018 South St., Birmingham, OH.
