Sandra Snell (née Croll), 72, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Amherst Manor Retirement Community after a brief illness.
Born on February 11, 1952, in Lorain, Sandra was a lifelong resident of the area. She dedicated her career to working at Marconi's Factory as a circuit board operator and later as a receptionist at Douds Veterinary Hospital until her retirement. Sandra was known for her warm personality and commitment to her work and community.
Sandi had a passion for crafting, she enjoyed making homemade cards, sewing, and cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces that brought joy to her family and friends. Her love for horses, which began in her childhood, continued throughout her life as she enjoyed watching races and reading about them. Sandi also cherished reading, cooking, and caring for her beloved pet birds.
She is survived by her loving children, James "Jay" (Terri) Snell III and Miranda (Phil) Gammella; and her cherished granddaughter, Katherine Snell. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Albert "Bud" J. Croll; her mother, Ruth Lockwood (née Brewster); her stepfather, Dale Lockwood; and her brother, Kenneth Croll.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Inurnment will follow at Wakeman Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to an animal shelter of your choice, honoring Sandi's love for animals.
