Sophie G. Janowicz

Sophie G. Janowicz (nee Dombroski), 92, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Sophie was born November 15, 1925 in Lorain, OH and had been a lifelong resident. She previously worked in retail stores. She was a lifetime member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, playing cards, dancing, watching TV, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Dennis Janowicz of Lorain; daughters, Joyce (Edward) Karkalik of CA, and Kathy (Paul) Garver of Lorain; grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Anna, Nick, Allison, and Jacob; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Janowicz; parents, Anthony and Mary (nee Jablonski) Dombroski; brothers, John and Chester Dombroski; and sister, Victoria Howard.
