Timothy J. Pihlblad, 67, of Amherst, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born on February 27, 1957, in Lorain, Ohio, Tim had been a proud resident of Amherst for the past 21 years, having previously lived in Perry, Georgia.
For the past decade, Tim served as the Lorain County Dog Warden, a role that reflected his lifelong love of animals. Earlier in his career, he worked at Lorain Animal Clinic, Riddell, and US Steel.
Tim found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed traveling, maintaining his yard, golfing, and spending time on Lake Erie, where he loved boating, tubing, and jet skiing. He also had a passion for cars and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. A devoted sports enthusiast, Tim was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Debbie Pihlblad of Amherst; his sons, Matt Pihlblad of Charleston, South Carolina, and Ryan Pihlblad of Amherst; and his cherished grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Wilson and Kennedy Pihlblad. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis (Janet) Pihlblad of Lorain and Mark (Ovilsi) Pihlblad of North Ridgeville; his sister, Lisa Telloni of Tempe, Arizona; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred “Boots” Pihlblad (née Kutting).
In accordance with Tim’s wishes, private family services will be held to honor his memory.
The family kindly suggests that memorial contributions be made in Tim’s name to the Lorain County Kennel, 301 Hadaway St., Elyria, OH 44035.
