Viola Nell Henson (nee Golden), 86, of Vermilion passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born January 23, 1927 in Yazoo, Mississippi. She was raised in Arkansas and resided in Memphis, TN for many years. She had been a resident of Vermilion for 55 years, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vermilion. Viola was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, travel, shopping, crocheting, and sewing. She is survived by daughters, Linda S. (Ronald) Hunt and Cynthia G. (Timothy) Tracy both of Vermilion; 9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Harmond (Maxine) Golden of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Hobert Frankie Henson who passed away in 1995; daughter, Francis Marie Henson who passed away in 2012; her parents Joe Pal and Frances (nee Smith) Golden; brothers, Paul and Bud Golden; sisters, Katherine Starling, Betty Jo Boggess, Peggy Clepper, Rosa Lee Craig, and Juanita Lillian McInturff; and grandchildren, Brian James Boyd and Regina Lee Watkins. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion. Friends may also call Monday, March 25, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Reverend Nile Hill will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 6716 West River Rd., Vermilion, OH 44089.
