Wanda M. Canon, age 82, of Lorain, died Monday, February 7, 2005 at Kingston of Vermilion following a longtime illness. She was born on December 16, 1922 in Copperhill, TN and has been a Lorain resident for over 50 years, moving from Tennessee. She had resided at Kingston of Vermilion since 2001. She worked as an assembler for the former Lorain Products Company for 19 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Tower Baptist Church in Lorain. She enjoyed ceramics as well as traveling and planning luncheons with her friends while living at the Oberlin Manor Apartments in Lorain. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Hammond of Lorain; sons, Lonnie George of Lorain, Jerry Haff of Springfield and James Canon of Amherst; sisters, Myrtle Corn and Hazel Dockery and brother Howard Culberson, all of Cleveland, Tennessee. She also leaves 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Emery and Siddie A. (nee Davenport) Culberson, a sister, Ethel Chancey and a brother, Lake Culberson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Terry Brooks, pastor of Tower Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Online condolences may be made at www.dombrowskifuneralhome.com
