Albert Adzima, 86 of Vermilion, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his home following a short illness. He was born November 17, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been a Vermilion resident since 1988, moving from Maple Heights, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A meat cutter by trade, he owned and operator Al's Meat Market & Turney - Dunham Meats in Maple Heights, retiring in 1980. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy (nee Malarik) Adzima; a daughter, Kathy (Michael) Kleckner of Vermilion; son, Jim (Patti) Adzima of Solon; 5 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren. He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Andrew and Sophie (nee Timko) Adzima and several brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the Riddle Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 10:00 am until the time of a graveside service at 1:00 pm at Maple Grove Cemetery. Fr. Jim Holmer, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, will officiate. Military honors will be presented by the Vermilion Veteran's Council. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
