Albert J. Taylor "AJ", age 76, of Vermilion, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Community Health Partners West, Lorain, after a sudden illness. He was born October 17, 1927 in Berlin Heights, and had been a lifelong Vermilion area resident. He worked in the maintenance department of the Ford Assembly Plant in Lorain for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. Taylor had attended the Vermilion E&R church, was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post #22 in Vermilion, and enjoyed playing bingo. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Taylor; 2 daughters, Peggy Taylor and Tracie Taylor, both of Vermilion; son, Larry Taylor of Vermilion; 3 granddaughters, 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Taylor of Tallahassee, FL; and twin sister, Alberta Mussel of Lorain, and sister, Ruby Griggs of Vermilion. Preceding him in death were his parents, Garry and Edith (nee Lee) Taylor and a sister, Valencia Gomez. Friends may call Sunday July 4, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 5, 2004, with the Rev. Doug Yost, pastor of the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors.
