Alethea K. Green

Alethea Kay "Lee" Green, 67, of Vermilion, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Erie County after a tragic automobile accident.

Born on February 17, 1957, in Tacoma, Washington, she grew up in Columbus and North Olmsted, Ohio, bringing a kind heart and a vibrant spirit to everyone she met. Alethea relocated to Vermilion four years ago after living in North Ridgeville to be close to her grandchildren.

Lee had an exceptional career, spanning more than 30 years. She began in savings and loan before finding her true calling as an international customs broker, where she left a lasting mark on Cleveland’s industry. Her success was recognized when she received the prestigious Commodore Award, one of Ohio’s highest honors for business leaders. Lee’s dedication, sharp attention to detail, and entrepreneurial mindset allowed her to build meaningful relationships across industries and continents. Her work was a reflection of her adventurous spirit and love for connecting with people from all walks of life, and her tireless drive to succeed.

Alethea was a kind and gentle soul who loved animals; dogs especially. She provided a warm home full of love for dogs she rescued from abandonment. Her favorite pastime was boating while watching the sunset on a calm Lake Erie summer evening.

Lee leaves to cherish her memory by her devoted husband of 42 years, Terry Joe Green (TJ) retired Lieutenant - North Ridgeville Fire Department; her daughter, Shawna Green; her son, Michael (Sarah) Green; beloved grandchildren Ivan and Myles Green; her brothers, Jeff and Dana.

Friends may call Monday, December 30, 2024 from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
