Alfred D. Wiley

Alfred D Wiley, 85, of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky after a short illness. Alfred was born August 7, 1926 in Jefferson City, Missouri and had been a Vermilion resident since 1960 moving from Memphis, TN. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. Alfred worked as an over the road truck driver for Roadway Trucking for 30 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22, and had been a member of the V.F.W. Post 7576. He enjoyed laughing, dancing and music. He especially enjoyed his family. He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Michael) Wilson of Vermilion; son, Ronald Huggins of Vermilion; granddaughter, Michelle Neidler of Sandusky; grandsons, Tom (Colleen) Angert and Nathan (Crystal) Bath; great-grandchildren, Kelsi and Brooke Niedler; Logan Luckacho, Paul, Jullian, and Teresa Angert; Tyler, Ayden and Ashton Bath and sister, Mildred Browning of TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Wiley in 1997; parents, Add Browning and Beulah (nee Ferguson) Wiley; brother, Bill Wiley; and sisters: Ruth Austin, Desilee Kaiser, Doris Fraizer, Nadine Barnette, and Cat Roberts. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7, 2011 from 11 until the time of a memorial service at 1:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors prior to the memorial service. The Reverend Mel Saylor will officiate.
