Alice M. Hermann

Alice M. Hermann (nee Mey ), age 83, of Amherst, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness. Alice was born May 19, 1932 in Cleveland, and had lived most of her life in the Vermilion area. Alice was a homemaker and in earlier years worked as a nurses aid, and in home health care. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and loved animals. Alice is survived by daughters Dorothy (John) O'Neal of Amherst, Kathy (Paul) Sattler of Harrison, W.VA, Donna (Rudy) Hoovler of Amherst, and Judy (Patrick) McLaughlin of Olney, IL; son Robert C. Hermann of Grafton; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brothers Bob (Pat) Mey, and Ernest "Ernie" Mey both of Vermilion; sister Barb (Ed) Smith of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Hermann in 1993, parents John and Martha (nee Kellat) Mey, brothers Johnnie, Edward, and Wally Mey, sisters Pauline Holtcamp, Emma Griggs, and Helen Newkirk. Friends may call Thursday, January 14th from 4-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St., Vermilion. Funeral services will be held Friday at the funeral at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Rich Leseganich officiating. An interment ceremony will be announced at a later date.
