Alice L. Martin

Alice L. Martin (nee Butson), 78, of Vermilion, died Monday, May 18, 2020 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born December 24, 1941 in Groton, CT and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 44 years moving from CT. Alice had worked for Worthington Golf Ball Co. and GE before retiring in 2003 from Tenneco, Norwalk where she had worked for 15 years. She had attended the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church. Alice enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, socializing, genealogy and especially enjoyed reading. She is survived by her son, David (Kimberly) Martin of Vermilion; grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Robin, Tiffany and Sean; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harmon Martin in 2016; parents; and her brother, Lee Butson. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. All are welcome to attend however, social distancing will be practiced during the visitation, rotating a limited number of people in the funeral home at one time.
