Allen J. Toth, 64 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at his home after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was born September 14, 1941 in Fremont, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 13 years, moving from Fremont. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1961-1967. During his enlistment and two tours of duty during the Vietnam War, he was commendated as a sharpshooter and was decorated with the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He worked as an auto technician for the Ford Automotive Company in Sandusky for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He was a life member of the AMVETS Post # 22 in Vermilion and the Huron Eagles Club. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and bowler. He enjoyed gambling and traveling to Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Barbara (nee Lowe) Toth of Vermilion; 3 daughters, Teresa Nesbitt of Fremont, Glenda Geary of Vermilion and Kathy Balzer of Vermilion; 5 sons, Michael Toth of Vermilion, Allen Toth, Jr. of Clyde, Ernie Mosley of Vermilion, James Mosley of Vermilion and Doug Mosley of Woodstock, GA; 24 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a brother, Alex Toth, Jr. of Fremont. He was preceded-in-death by his first wife, Phyllis Toth in 1986 and his parents, Alex and Margaret (nee Baskey) Toth. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 11, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2006. The Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion, will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
