Amanda Faye Grills (nee Turnmire), 76, of Vermilion , died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at her home after a 2 year illness. She was born January 30, 1931 in Green County, TN and had lived in Vermilion for 40 years. She had worked at the telephone company in Kingsport, TN before moving to Ohio. She had been a member of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain and Lighthouse Baptist Church, Sandusky. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, bowling and church activities. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Roy Grills; 2 daughters, Deborah Smith of Vermilion and Lisa Elliott of Wakeman; and 3 grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Calvin and Texie May (nee Brookshire) Turnmire; brothers, Tom, Arley, John and Walt Turnmire and sisters, Beatrice Smith and Kate Cox. Friends may call Sunday, February 11, 2007 from 4-7 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Monday, February 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. Pastor Richard C. Mick, pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Sandusky, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Contributions may be made to the New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035-1450.
