Amanda M. Murphy, 26, of Huron, died Dec. 15, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus after a sudden illness. She was born December 13, 1988 in Cleveland and has been a Huron resident for the past 14 years moving from North Olmsted. Amanda was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, Huron. She had played the flute while at Edison High School in the band and continued to play after High School. She had been a life guard at Castaway Bay and Kalahari Resort, Sandusky and loved spending time with her family on the water. She also enjoyed dancing and helping others, volunteering at Angles Closet, the Salvation Army, and was an elderly care companion. She is survived by her parents, Bernard "BJ" Jr. and Kelly (nee Murphy) Lavelle of Huron, she was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Caleb Nicolas Murphy and daughter, Grace Elizabeth Murphy; sister, Victoria Murphy of Huron, maternal grandfather, Edward Murphy of Huron, paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Lavelle of North Olmsted and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Janet Murphy and paternal grandfather, Bernard J. Lavelle Sr.. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 820 Cleveland Road East, Huron, OH 44839.
