Andrew J. Jennings, 78, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 25, 1944 in Thomas, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 65 years moving from Morgantown, WV.
Andrew was a veteran of the US Army serving in the 82nd Airborne during Vietnam.
Andrew worked as a paint tech for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a life member of AMVETS Post #22 and the VFW Post #7576. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post #397 and a member of the UAW #425. Andrew enjoyed camping, playing Corn Hole, golfing, gambling, woodworking, shooting pool, and spending time with his dog, Karma, and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debra (nee Bennett) Jennings of Vermilion; son, Donny (Michelle) Buchanan of Vermilion; daughter, Shelby (Tad) Phillips of Vermilion; grandchildren, Elizabeth Buchanan, David Buchanan, Jordan Buchanan, and Cooper Phillips; and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Irene (nee Whisner) Jennings; brother, William Jennings; and his sisters, Mary Jo Jennings and Elizabeth France.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 2:00 p.m.until the time of the funeral service at 4:30 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Military Honors will be presented just prior to the funeral service. Pastor Heidi Strickler will officiate.
